When cutting the film, leave an extra 2-5mm of edge allowance so that the film can be tucked under the vehicle's paint edge.
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the film edges, making it more pliable and easier to conform and wrap around the edges.
When wrapping the edges, gently stretch the film to ensure it lays flat and conforms to the surface. Overstretching can cause the film to lose its elasticity, while insufficient stretching may result in incomplete coverage.
Use a rubber squeegee or edge-wrapping tool to press the film into the edges or gaps, ensuring the film adheres tightly to the vehicle surface.
Avoid using too much installation solution near the edges. A small amount will allow the film to slide into position, but too much liquid can reduce adhesion.
For more complex areas like door handles or side mirrors, heat the film first to increase its flexibility, then proceed with wrapping.
Before wrapping the edges, make sure the area is clean and free of dust or debris, which can interfere with adhesion.
After heating and stretching the film, allow it to cool naturally to lock it in the desired position.
After installation, regularly inspect the edges to ensure they are firmly adhered and have not lifted. If any lifting occurs, use a heat gun and tools to press the film back into place.
